Happy Friday lil monsters. I’m fresh off a Lady Gaga concert in Omaha, NE. What’s going on around the world? Well there’s some good news, more bad news, and really weird news. I hope today’s list sufficiently gets you through the weekend….

4. Energy policy reset: Forget nuclear reactors and Mideast oil. “The two largest crises today — the Japanese nuclear disaster and the widening unrest in the Middle East — prove it’s time to de-fetishize energy policy. These serious problems also demonstrate why we must expand the nation’s ample oil and gas supplies — urgently.” Another great piece over at [Politico]. What’s also great, this digital artwork that accompanies it:
Every wonder how Politico gets these incredible digital art works each week? They’re by the talented artist Matt Mahurin and they are all because our friend, (and uber-talented editor), Allison Silver commissions them. So cool.

10. Someday, hopefully soon, the nuclear crisis in Japan will end. And in this morning’s paper, USA Today outlines three possible ways the end might look. “Experts say the best case scenario would be “a worse accident than Three Mile Island.” The worst case scenario? That “reactors melt down, caches of used nuclear fuel catch fire and worst-case weather carries contamination over the homes of hundreds of thousands of people.” [PP]
